Huawei bags mobile network deal in Singapore


Huawei Technologies Co. has been selected by Singapore's Mobile One (M1) to deploy its ALL IP GSM, 3G, HSPA and LTE systems over the next five years.

The Singapore mobile and wireless broadband operator chose Huawei to support the future expansion and upgrade of the company's 3G and HSPA network that include both the CORE and UTRAN whole network spans. Under the terms of the contract, Huawei has been given the task of implementing an end-to-end ALL IP network to meet M1's future requirements.

Neil Montefiore, M1's CEO, said, "We have in Huawei a partner that is in the forefront of current and new technologies and with a robust commitment to research and development. Their capabilities will greatly support and complement our efforts to plan ahead to deliver mobile and other services that will meet the future needs of our customers."

"The latest 4th Generation multi-platform ALL IP solution and advanced Packet Core solution that Huawei is going to deploy for M1 will deliver high speeds and better quality of experience to M1 customers and enhance M1's competitive advantage," added Jeff Liu, president, Huawei, South Pacific.
