LiMo Foundation, a global consortium of mobile leaders delivering open-handset platform for the mobile industry, welcomes its newest core member, Texas Instruments Inc. LiMo was established in January 2007 by Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics and Vodafone,

As part of the foundation, TI will be working on the advancement of the LiMo Platform; establish an open and diverse ecosystem that will highlight the advantages of open Linux-based development, and collaborate with other mobile industry players. Moreover, TI will assume a seat on LiMo's board of directors, executive council, architecture council and requirements council.
